Cross Mountain
Close to town and a million miles away. A place of refuge and respite. A place to look over our beautiful town and find peace… Our beloved Cross Mountain.
The hill has stood as long as time, and the cross itself was erected in 1946. It is lit at night and gives comfort to all who seek it out for this purpose. A beacon of hope standing tall at over 1900 ft above sea level. There is nothing to buy, or bring home. Here, you will find only a cross and a bench - and a place to “just be”. Alone in your thoughts while you look over a place we love to call home.
Standing tall and certain. No matter the weather. A constant in the seas of change here in Fredericksburg. And a gift to all who wish
to find it.
